Optimal fire safety
Wood and fire: it seems like a risky combination, but in practice, the situation is much more nuanced. Although wood is technically flammable, it actually behaves very predictably and favorably in a fire thanks to the natural insulating effect of the charcoal layer.
At Van Ierssel Houtimport, we understand that safety and regulations are paramount. For facade cladding, the basic requirement generally applies. fire class D. We supply fully CE-certified facade systems that meet this requirement as standard – even for challenging applications such as open cladding.
Sometimes a project calls for more. For situations where stricter requirements apply, we offer innovative solutions that take untreated wood to a higher level. For example, with our specialized profiles, such as the Forestlines® system, we even achieve Fire class B in end-use. This means maximum fire safety with the authentic appearance of pure wood. But also treatment using Flame-Fix or a Woodsafe treatment.
